T
he summer of 1977 was HOT! So hot that the pavements had started to melt! 1977 was a year of celebration. Street parties filled the land. And for Melanie Switters it was a time of
fun and grooving.
Melanie was born, then again a lot people were born that year. Her mother modelled nail clippers, although she wasn’t generally recognised by face, as soon as she took out her right foot, people
flocked around her. Her father was a tester of Electricity. Some say she got her unique curly hair from her fathers testing. But they were a happy family, what with nail clipping and electricity testing.
Happy until, one day her father had the bright idea to create an electric nail clipper. By the time the emergency services had arrived the clippers had eaten her mother alive only leaving one toenail
behind. Her father had put the clippers on too high a voltage. He was so shocked, he shot through the roof and nearly hit a passing plane. Melanie, being of simple desires, never really understood
what happened to her parents,

and everyone thought it was best that way.
In the late summer of 1977, a street party in Selhurst was going strong until, horror of horrors, they ran out of cakes. Melanie stood tall, well tall for her, and volunteered to
go and buy more cakes. Her knowledge of cakes made her perfect for the task, although maybe a threat to the task also. Could a cake return in one piece in the hands of this cake lover?
Melanie waved goodbye and left. And that was the last anyone ever saw of her. Did she reach the bakers? Did she eat all the cakes and explode. Or did she just vanish?
With our three heroes taken out of their own time, our story really starts. Or does it?
