D uring the 17th century there was a man, well, there were a lot of men around at the time, but it is only one man in which we are interested. A man who was known for his heroic acts of bravery, especially when it came to the ladies. He was a man of learning, well he could read books, and in the 17th Century that was good enough. He was an Inventor, a Creator and a Romantic. His name was Jack Walters.

Jack was born to the family of great Walters, his father had invented Daylight and his mother had invented night, or so they told the locals. Following the strange events of 1647 when no one died, not a single person in fact, it had put the funeral business into recession. Seeing the chance of making some quick money, Jack’s father purchased all the Hearse’s from the local Funeral Parlours. He then set up a special

auction to the sell them off. Hence why the area became known as SELL – HEARSE! Later it simply became known as Selhurst.

It was Jack’s acts of heroism which made him famous, but what was to happen to him next was to make him infamous. It was during one late summer day that Jack entered the woods of Selhurst and was never seen again. The mystery of his disappearance was never solved. Some say all the husbands of the local women set a trap!
